IMPORTANT: LESSON SWAP

Dear class

Please note that your Geography and Literature lessons this week will be mutually swapped.

This means that your Geography lesson is on Thursday while Literature will be on Friday. Remember to bring the correct books on these days.

Please understand the rationale for this arrangement as we have missed Last (Good) Friday and this Friday I will be on course.

Also, please hand in your Geog WB a.s.a.p.

At least 10 students did not hand up their Workbook, as of Friday 5pm.
Only 1 student (Nathaniel) did not hand up the File.

These students will not get the 10%; I have been very clear in my instructions, no excuses will be entertained.

Remember that all handouts must be in order, corrections done etc. Don't forget the collage cover page too.

RUBRICS FOR FILE CHECK

· Updated content page
· All graded assignments must have their marks recorded
· All assignments, handouts, worksheets and notes must be in the file
· All corrections must be done (where applicable)

1 mark is deducted for any/each of the criteria not met.

(e.g. if you have 10 worksheets not filed in, you get ZERO.)

3) Organise Geog file (all corrections to be done, including Workbook)

Missing Test Scripts

Please take note that I have to collect back all marked test scripts.

Homework for 14 Feb

1) Mark and do corrections for WS 3.1-3.3 and Topical Test (answers have been distributed!)

2) Organise handouts in file, bring them next lesson

- We will update the content page together =)

3) Do a cover page for the Geography file

- This is in the form of an A4 photo collage.

- The theme is Human Geography

- Remember to include your name, class and index number.

Announcements/Reminders

1) I have just distributed the answers to Topical Test on Settlements.
Don't worry if you could not answer all of them correctly; I assure the test tomorrow would be easy (as long as you have studied your text and followed my lesson)

2) Map reading skills will also be tested - so revise your 4 or 6-figure grid reference, compass bearing, scale etc.

3) You may use a calculator if your mental Maths ain't good. =)

This is some information about your test this coming Thursday (14 Feb!)
Topics covered: Chapters 1-3 (Intro to Human Geog, Population, Settlements)
Total number of marks: 25
Format: 5 MCQs, 2 Structured Questions (1 question on Pop, 1 question on Settlements)
Time allocated: The double-period (don't be late for lesson!)

Tips: The mindmap I asked you to do will come in handy!
Be prepared to be greeted with data such as photos, diagrams and quotes etc.

Study hard and all the best! I'll be around after school if you need help (from Mon to Wed)!
